DESTINATION – Mystic CT. Exit 90 off I-95 . We will gather in the parking lot across from the end of the off ramp at the Mystic Information Center.
ETA – between 11:30AM and Noon.
Please join us for a fun day trip to the Mystic Seaport area in Mystic CT followed by an early evening visit to Foxwoods Casino (are you feeling lucky?).
We meet at 9 AM in the Car Pool Parking area at Exit #26 (Berlin/Hudson Rt. 62) off Rte. 495 in Berlin, MA. The parking area is at the end of the off ramp exiting from 495 South. If you exit from 495 North go left at the end of the ramp and you will see it on the right. There are no restroom facilities at the meeting point. However, there are two gas stations nearby.
We will be traveling along a scenic Connecticut Interstate and some great secondary roads including CT route 49 which is listed as a Scenic Roadway by AAA.
Getting there will only be half the fun. Once there I think you’ll be amazed to see how much there is to see and do in this area!
The Mystic Aquarium has inside and outside exhibits featuring aquatic animals from all over the world in their natural habitat. Including two 15’ Beluga Whales from Alaska swimming freely in a giant pool. Or you might want to see the Penguin exhibit or take in the Sea Lion show. One could spend 3 hours at the Aquarium to see it all and take in a show. Aquarium entrance fees are $16 PP, $15 for Seniors.
Olde Mystic Village is located right next to the aquarium and features over 60 different specialty shops set in an Early American atmosphere. The village is close enough to walk to from the aquarium. There are plenty of places in the village for a nice lunch and ice cream.
Mystic Seaport is a bustling 19th century seafarer’s village with tall ships and historic buildings. Including a unique working shipyard where one can step back in time and board a tall ship or stroll through the 19th century village by the sea. Entrance fees are $17 per person.
Mystic Seaport is a short ˝ mile ride from the aquarium. Factory Outlet Shopping is located across the street from Olde Mystic Village. Dinner will be at Jamms Restaurant in Mystic, CT at 5:30 PM. Our club will be seated together in a private room. The meal is buffet style featuring Penne with Seafood Newburg, Sliced Roast Beef Au Jus and Chicken Marsala along with an appetizer, salad, rolls, butter, desert and coffee. The price of dinner is $26.95 per person which includes the tip.
After dinner it’s off to the Foxwoods Casino for all that want to go.
Please RSVP to Rich Mariani, by phone or email above.
NOTE - If you choose to join the group along the way. Our first stop is the Mobil Service area on I-395 South right after Exit 90. Do not exit I-395; this stop is on the highway.
Our ETA will be approximately 10:30 AM. Let me know if you want to meet us there.
