in Mass 2006!
Since this ride has evolved into a nostalgic American theme with its focus on Route 66, I thought it would be fun to maintain that theme and change our destination.
Miatas in Mass ’06 will still run the entire length of Route 66, and we will start at the Holiday Inn Holyoke, exit 15 off I-91, exit 4 off the Mass Pike. But instead of going to Bish Bash Falls, we will instead travel to the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge.
In keeping with the reflective theme of our ride, the museum is featuring two exhibitions; Frederick Remington and the Civil War, and Norman Rockwell’s 323 Saturday Evening Post covers. So not only will we travel historic roads, we will also view some of the most famous art in American history!
Is that not a great idea for a themed ride? Are we not great planners?
(The truth is, we found that the road to Bash Bish Falls was rough and was too far for everyone to do in a day, so we had to amend)
After a ride over great roads, you can either visit the museum or hang out in the picnic area where we will eat our packed lunches. Entrance to the museum is $12.50 a person.
After the museum, we’ll ride through beautiful downtown Stockbridge and you can decide if you want to enter the Turnpike in Lee, cruise down the Jacob’s Ladder Scenic Byway (Rt 20), or stop at the outlet shops.
