Description: A colorful, scenic ride on twisty backroads of northern Mass
and southern New Hampshire's Mt. Monadnock region

Highlights include:
  • New England fall foilage at/near their peak color - many views of Mt. Monadnock
  • Rendezvous at the Lancaster/Johnny Appleseed rest area on rt. 2 just east of Leominster
    • drivers meeting will be at 9:15 - please plan on arriving a little earlier if you'll need to use the onsite rest rooms
    • click on this MapQuest link and enter your home address at the bottom of the page to get driving directions and driving times to an address near the rest area (if travelling westbound stay on rt. 2 to just past exit 35, eastbound exit at rt. 70 and re-enter westbound)
    • Western Mass members - let me know when you sign up and I'll give you details on where you can join the trip farther west on route 2
  • beautiful scenic, wooded, very twisty roads - one road is frequently mentioned as one of the 10-best in the USA by motorcycle magazines
  • pit stop (and maybe a walk) on the grounds of the NH Rhododendron State Park
  • lunch at Brady's near Peterborough
  • ice cream stop at Kimball's in Jaffrey, NH
  • pit stop at Trap Falls in Willard Brook State Forest (MA)
  • ending with a drive thru the Ft. Devens ex-military base back to route 2
