Come along with us as we travel through Eastern Connecticut to visit Mystic Seaport in Mystic, CT on July 12th, 2015, which will include a visit to the "Charles W Morgan" the last surviving whaling ship. (We will not be visiting Mystic Aquarium which we visited a few years ago.)
Cost: $25 per person this includes admission to the seaport and a guided tour. Note the trip is rain or shine.

The cutoff date for this event is July 1st. Please sign up and send check by this date.
Our meeting place will be the Walmart parking lot in Sturbridge MA on RT 20 at 9:00 AM. When you get off the Mass Pike heading south take RT 20 east and Walmart is a mile or so on the left. Rest rooms are available at Walmart, and several gas stations are nearby (please have full tanks).
We will have a drivers meeting at 9:15 and depart at 9:30 for a scenic ride in eastern CT and arrive at the Mystic seaport around 11:30 AM. We will be parking across the street from the main entrance to the seaport (if this lot is full you may park in the first lot that we passed) and take a short walk to the welcome area where we all will meet up and sign in.
When we enter you are invited to tour the grounds and enjoy any part of the seaport you wish, and food is available at the Galley restaurant for lunch. They have a selection of sandwiches, salads and burgers and hot dogs you will pay as you go.
At 2:00 PM we will start the guided tour which will take about an hour and a half. We will meet on the Green at the Gazebo. On this guided tour we will be going on the Charles W Morgan and to several buildings including the rope shop and some other very interesting buildings. Please hold off on going to the Charles W Morgan until the tour. The Mayflower 2 is also in the seaport being refurbished along with endless buildings of the period.
At the end of the tour you may continue exploring the seaport or have some Ice cream at the Galley restaurant, which is open until 5:00 PM.
For those interested the admission is good for one reentry for a week you must have your ticket validated by the gate attendant. If anyone wants they can make a long weekend of it and stay at one of the many hotels in Mystic and continue to enjoy the Seaport.
Due to the fact that this a good distance from where most of the Miata people live, the trip will end at this point and you can depart and pick up RT 95 and head home.
