Description:
Did you know that Merriam-Webster Online defines a notch as: "a deep close pass, a gap, a mountain pass, a narrow opening between mountains"

Did you also know there are actually 36 notch/gap/pass locations found in New Hampshire and all but two are located in White Mountains and the Great North Woods? Come with us on the weekend of July 24th and July 25th to see just how many we can drive our Miata's through.

We will be meeting at the Holiday Inn on Route 20 off of Route I495, in Marlborough, MA. at 9:00 A.M., with a departure time of 9:15 A.M. The second meeting place will be at the northbound I93 Hooksett, NH rest area (and NH liquor store) at a time TBD.

We will travel up to Meredith N.H. for lunch at the famous Hart's Turkey Farm.

After lunch we will travel back roads to our hotel destination, the Hampton Inn, 580 Meadow St., in Littleton, N.H. for our two night stay. For those members who attended the Mass Miata Holiday Party in Plymouth, MA, you can attest to the newness, cleanliness and comfort of the Hampton Hotels. All rooms have a quoted rate of $99.00 per night, plus tax. The rate is based on their standard king or two queen bed rooms and is based on two people per room and includes a complimentary breakfast. We have an open time frame for booking a room, but it is busy summer weekend in July,

Signup deadline for this trip is July 6th or when the hotel runs out of rooms. I can't emphasize the important of booking early. They inn will honor the $99.00 rate as long as there are rooms available. By doing this we can retain the 24 hour cancellation policy without penalty.

So call the Hampton Inn soon for you reservation: (866) 579-0037 and please mention the "Mass Miata Group" to receive our special discount.

We will spend the rest of the weekend exploring the great mountain notches and outstanding scenery the Upper White Mountains and the Great North Woods have available.

Besides the turkey farm we'll have a group dinner on Saturday evening, lunches on the road, and a special Sunday breakfast at the famous Polly's Pancake Parlor (or you can have the Hampton Inn continental breakfast).

Once you have made your reservation please e-mail me (Lillian) at lorchard@cambridgema.gov or call me at home at: 781 762-2145.
